Pieces of foam glued on are much more effective than the original style rubber strips. It also cuts down of vibration. Fill the void between the ski run and the bottom of the cooler with a piece too. Don’t forget to secure the accelerator tube with a piece of hose and a clamp. It’s really hard to do this with the engine installed in a bus and maybe impossible in a pickup so do it before installation.
